Vodafone has upgraded its mobile broadband services for customers in the Manchester area, according to reports.
Users of the network's services will now have access to improved levels of mobile broadband speed and performance, as well as make the most of simplified and more structured billing.
Broadband Expert notes that Vodafone has spent "millions of pounds" on the upgrade which it states has been a major investment for the benefit of its customers in the region.
Commenting on the move, Vodafone UK's head of PC connectivity Alec Howard said that the reason Manchester had been chosen as one of the key areas for such investment was its thriving business community.
"Whats really important for Manchester is that people travel from all over Britain to do business in Manchester and if they know that the wireless coverage is really good it will drive productivity," he said.
Last month, the site reported that Vodafone had teamed up with Sony Ericsson in a bid to make mobile broadband services more accessible and affordable for small and medium-sized businesses in the UK.
