A new range of mobile phones incorporating the latest in digital camera technology could be on the way from Casio.
With an eight-megapixel cameraphone currently on the market from Samsung and one on the way from Sony Ericsson, the manufacturer has decided to move forward with its own offering.
Pocket Lint reports that blueprints have emerged, which have also been given the approval of the US federal communications commission, outlining Casio's mobile plans.
It notes that the handset could go head-to-head with other eight-megapixel cameraphone offerings such as the recently launched Samsung i8510 and the Sony Ericsson C905.
"The 3G W63CA flip is expected to sport a 800 x 480 pixel swivelling display," the site notes, but adds that "whether this phone will make it to the UK is anyone's guess at the moment".
Samsung's i8510 mobile phone is expected to be available in the UK next month, according to the Carphonewarehouse.
